Iranian Alliances Across Borders

Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) is a U.S.-based non-profit volunteer organization, with a mission to "address issues of the Iranian diaspora community while raising awareness of the Iranian community, promoting leadership, and connecting Iranians across borders."

Contents

Formation

In 2003, IAAB was established by college students in Boston, Massachusetts. The organization focuses on building community in the Iranian diaspora and empowering youth through leadership training. IAAB's headquarters are in New York City.

Projects

IAAB's projects include the International Conferences on the Iranian American Diaspora, Camp Ayandeh,[Note 1] Project Connection, Student Summit,[1] IAAB Art, Bam Seminar, and others. The most prominent project conducted by IAAB is Camp Ayandeh, an annual summer leadership camp held for high school students and is the first program of its kind in the United States.

2010 Census Coalition

In 2009, IAAB joined the Iranian American 2010 Census Project [2] along with various other Iranian-American organizations, including the National Iranian American Council and PAAIA.[Note 2] A series of Iranian-American organizations, including IAAB, are attempting to contact every Iranian household within the United States in order to educate them about the relevance of the 2010 Census.
